Martin Hofmann and Joachim Kurtz (Intellectual History) co-edit volume Wissensorte in China (Sites of Knowledge in China). The volume has just been published by Harrassowitz.

The Graduate Programme for Transcultural Studies (GPTS) at the HCTS welcomes applications for two doctoral scholarships beginning in October 2024.

The Research Training Group (RTG) “Ambivalent Enmity” will celebrate its opening ceremony on November 30, 2023, at 5 PM in the Alte Aula of Heidelberg University. The keynote will be delivered by Derek J. Penslar (Harvard University) with the title “Between Amity and Enmity: Jewish and Arab Mutual Perceptions in the 20th Century.”

Monica Juneja is being honoured for her lifelong academic achievements. She is to receive this year’s Meyer-Struckmann Prize, which is awarded by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) and acknowledges her accomplishments as an expert on Global Art History. The award comes with 20.000 Euros and is granted annually for work on topics alternating between the humanities and social sciences.
