Interdisciplinary Research Groups

The Cluster has encouraged for the 2nd funding period the formation of Research Groups (RG) that comprise 1-3 group leaders and up to a dozen or so co-researchers below the level of the Research Areas.

These research groups are as cluster´s project interdisciplinary but involve collaboration between scholars from different fields and across research area borders. Here, strong impulses for focused interdisciplinary exchange can be developed in a critical dialogue with existing disciplinary frameworks. In this way, the requisite cultural literacy will help to ground broader arguments in the realms of theory and methodology and prevent them from turning into interdisciplinary generalities.
