The outcome from this Phase 1 project is an extensive digital resource that illustrates the history of international organisations and global governance.

Currently  the database provides records on 12468 people, 3872 places, 1161 organisations and 21 topics. The data was extracted from the Handbook of International Organisations which was edited by the League of Nations in eight volumes from 1921 to 1938 and the League of Nations’ personnel files from 1919 to 1946.

In addition to the records the website offers access to the database though several data visualization options and a geographic search.

The project is now maintained by the Institute for European Global Studies at Basel University. Especially the records on people have the potential to be transformed and incorporated in a fully fletched persons repository in Phase 3.
