A short movie presents a face to face discussion on traditional knowledge involving Gary Martin, a world leader in ethnoecology from the University of Kent, and Laurent Pordié, coordinator of the Project C4 at the Cluster of Excellence in Heidelberg. The movie was made at the occasion of the Young Laureate Program of the Rolex Awards in Lausanne last November, for which Laurent Pordié participated in the selection process. The French daily newspaper La Tribune publishes an article on medical tourism and the new superbug. Medical Tourism has come under criticism for the newly emerging super-bacteria NDM-1, that originated from Asia and is named after New Delhi. This bacteria has infected European patients, who have been to India for medical treatment, and is resistant against common antibiotics. Medical tourism is seen as an important reason for the spread of spread of NDM-1. Members of the project C4 participate to the debate.
