Harbin International Summer School
In association with the international conference in Harbin, our Junior Research Group co-organized the Harbin International Summer School in which leading experts on Harbin and Manchurian History gave lectures and led discussions participated by German and Chinese graduate students. This week-long event was accompanied by excursions to historical sites in and outside of Harbin.

Together with the German-American Institute of Heidelberg, the Junior Research Group "Harbin" invited Hellmut Stern, a long-time resident in Harbin, to deliver a fascinating lecture on his personal experience in his one-time home city. After the lecture, he participated in a small group discussion at the Karl Jasper Centre.
