Additional to joint workshops, such as the Workshop "Nationising the Dynasty" in Nov. 2009, individual members of Research Project A5 have also participated in several further conferences and academic events.

From summer 2009 until summer 2010 the project members organized a bi‐monthly reading at the Karl Jaspers Centre, Heidelberg, which primarily focused on concepts of 'nation’ and ‘nationalism’, and in which Foucault’s work was discussed as well. This reading group was not only attended by members of A5 but also by other members of the cluster.

Currently the project is in the process of planning an international graduate conference under the name "NATIONIZING THE DYNASTY - DYNASTIZING THE NATION" in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Patrick Geary and the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, University of California (UCLA), Los Angeles, USA, which is set to take place April 12-14, 2012.  

Moreover, the project members will be participating in the conference “The Making of a Monarchy for the Modern World”, taking place at Kensington Palace, London, UK, from June 6‐8, 2012.
