About Nandini Thilak


Nandini Thilak is a doctoral candidate in art history and transcultural studies. Her research project ‘Inscribing the City: Women, Architecture, and Agency in an Indian Kingdom, Jodhpur, 1750-1850’ is centred on zenana women who acted as patrons of architecture in 18th and 19th century Jodhpur, India, and examines issues of agency, memory, and the afterlife of monuments. She was previously assistant curator at Mehrangarh Museum Trust in Jodhpur and curatorial assistant at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in Kochi, Kerala. She holds an MA in Arts and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
