About Ivan Sablin

Ivan Sablin studied International Relations (M.A. Thesis "Contemporary environmental policies of India and China: A comparative study") at Saint Petersburg State University and Global History (M.A. Thesis "Transcultural interactions in Chukotka, 1900-1945") at Heidelberg University. He also received advanced training in Historical GIS (geographic information systems) at Heidelberg University.

His research interests include global history of the 19th and 20th century, historical GIS, digital humanities, transcultural interactions in Siberia, social identity, indigenous literatures, early Soviet history, and environmental politics.
