About Lisa Caviglia
Lisa Caviglia holds a degree in Medical Biochemistry with a specialisation at the Master level in International Health. Her interest in anthropology grew from field experience, especially in Asian countries. Between 2001 and 2002 she worked in Nepal, running development projects in a remote rural area. From 2005 till 2006 she carried out research in Mongolia focusing on children and women engaging in prostitution. The study was conducted in cooperation with the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the project was the launching point for a deeper interest in sexual exchange for profit in various regional and cultural settings. Now focusing on the Asian context, her long term aim is to extend research in this field to other locations, starting from the European context.
