Curriculum vitae

Eugenia Bogdanova has studied Japanese Studies, General Art History and East Asian Art History at Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University (Ukraine), Kiev Art Academy (Ukraine), Kyoto University (Japan) and Heidelberg University (Germany). From 2007 to 2009 she has been working at the Japanese Embassy’s Cultural Department in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2011 she received her M.A. in East Asian Art History from the Heidelberg University with the thesis “War Painting Returns” Series by Aida Makoto in the Context of the Postwar Japanese Art. Her research fields include modern and contemporary Japanese painting and calligraphy, as well as their international entanglements. In 2011 she has joined GPTS with the project The Transcultural Art of Bokujinkai Group – Between Avant-Garde Calligraphy and Abstract Painting.
