About Susanne Weiß

Susanne Weiß has been the director and artistic director of the Heidelberger Kunstverein since 2012. From 2009 to 2010 she worked as Robert Bosch Cultural Manager for the Goethe Institute at the Sharjah Museums Department in the Emirate of Sharjah. In 2009 she curated the Diploma and Meisterschüler exhibitions in Fine Art at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee (1,2,3 …) and presented the exhibition Zwei Erzählungen von Etwas (Samsa, Berlin) with works by Heide Hinrichs and Max Sudhues. In 2008 she developed the exhibition series Ruhe und Ordnung together with Ulf Aminde (JET, Berlin). Between 2007 and 2008 she was artistic director at Kunsthaus Dresden - Städtische Galerie für Gegenwartskunst. In 2007, together with the NGBK RealismusStudio, she organised the Felix Gonzalez-Torres show at Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin. Her main curatorial interest is to developed specific forms for the interconnections of curatorial and art mediation processes. Since 1996 Susanne Weiß has worked on making international exhibitions in cities such as London, Oxford, Jerusalem, Vienna, Dresden, Sharjah and Berlin. She studied Museology at the HTW Berlin.
