Curriculum vitae

In Young Min studies international relations of East Asia, with a focus on Korea. His research interests include international relations theory, international order in early modern Asia, international hierarchy and politics of asymmetry, and security issues surrounding the two Koreas. He is currently working on a book manuscript based on his dissertation on the security strategies of China’s smaller neighbors in early modern Asia.

In Young received his doctoral degree in political science and international relations from the University of Southern California in 2018. Before moving to Heidelberg, he has taught and conducted research at USC’s Korean Studies Institute and Loyola Marymount University’s department of political science.
