About Natalie Eller

Natalie Eller joined the project MC 11.2 "Gloom Goes Global: Epistemologies and Ontologies of Melancholy between Europe and Asia" in January 2013, coordinated by Dr. Frank Grüner and Dr. med. Maike Rotzoll. Her PhD project "Fearing the Future – Thoughts on degeneration in fin de siècle Europe and Russia" will explore transcultural connections of literary and scientific narratives regarding thoughts on degeneration.

In 2011 she received a M.A. in Turkish Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her M.A. thesis was entitled "Ziya Gökalp's notion of the ideal Turkish nation state between 'nation de volonté' and 'Kulturnation'".
