Jun 10, 2015

The exchange programme with Hyderabad University is flourishing. Most recently, the first student from Heidelberg University returned from Hyderabad. At the moment, a group of three students from Hyderabad is staying and studying at Heidelberg University.

The exchange programme allows up to three students per academic year to spend one semester at the other's university. The programme is open to all students of the M.A. Transcultural Studies at Heidelberg University as well as to students from several disciplines of the University of Hyderabad. The tuition fees and living expenses of the exchange students are covered by the respective host university.

The M.A. Transcultural Studies is a research-oriented, interdisciplinary programme in the humanities and social sciences with a transregional focus. International students can apply until June 15 for the M.A. which starts every year in October.

The exchange programme with the University of Hyderabad is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Monica Juneja together with Jule Nowoitnick. It is also supported by the Heidelberg Centre for South Asia.

The University of Hyderabad was founded in 1974 and ranks among the top ten universities in India. With 46 different departments and centres, the university has more than 5,000 students. The urban campus covers an area of about nine square kilometres in Hyderabad, whereas Hyderabad itself is well-connected to other cities in India.
