The German daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) published an article by Cluster member Prof. Christiane Brosius on April 23, 2018. The article “Darf die Felsenknospe wieder blühen?” deals with foreign investors  and large-scale projects who  entered Nepal since reconstruction works have began after the tremendous earthquake in 2015.  read more

In November 2016 the Magazine of the German Federal Cultural Foundation (Issue #27) published an article by Prof. Monica Juneja, who holds the chair as HCTS Professor for "Global Art History" and is the Speaker of Research Area D "Historicities and Heritage" at the Cluster “Asia and Europe”. read more

Lots of Attention on Book by Takuma Melber

Takuma Melber published the volume “Pearl Harbor. Japans Angriff und der Kriegseintritt der USA“ with C.H. BECK in October 2016. December 7, 2016 was the 75th anniversary of Japan’s airstrike on Pearl Harbor, which resulted in an increased media interest in this historical event. Melber's expertise and research focus on this topic resulted in large amount of features. read more

FAZ article by Axel Michaels and Niels Gutschow

German Newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) published an article by Cluster members Prof. Axel Michaels and Prof. Niels Gutschow on December 28, 2016. The article is entitled “Götter im Ruhestand” and focuses on the reconstruction of Nepal’s cultural monuments and the difficult balancing act between mythical longings and global standards that goes along with it. read more
