We farewell Laila Abu-Er-Rub and welcome Nina Nessel!

After eight years at the Cluster, Laila Abu-Er-Rub leaves for a new position in India. From December on she will work for the Max Weber Foundation in Delhi where she will coordinate the International Centre for Advanced Study founded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).

Laila joined the Cluster in 2009 when she started working in the projects B4 "Transcultural Visuality Learning Group" and B12 "Rethinking Trends". In 2012, she was appointed coordinator of the Research Area B "Public Spheres" and in 2013, coordinator of the joint research project HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) SINGLE Creating the 'New Asian Woman' -  Entanglements of Urban Space, Cultural Encounters and Gendered Identities in Shanghai and Delhi.

Laila hands over her achievements to Nina Nessel, whom we warmly welcome. Previously, Nina was working in the joint research project HERA SINGLE Creating the 'New Asian Woman' - Entanglements of Urban Space, Cultural Encounters and Gendered Identities in Shanghai and Delhi.

Dear Laila, we thank you for your excellent work, support and engagement over many years and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. You have been a wonderful colleague and we look forward to seeing you again.
