Transcultural Forays: Activity and Publication Grants

Dec 15, 2017

The Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies is renewing the call for applications in its initiative “Transcultural Forays”. Scholars in all career stages can apply for Activity and Publication Grants until January 8, 2018. These grants will support academic events and the writing of an academic publication, respectively.

The initiative “Transcultural Forays” called for applications for start-up grants in spring and autumn of this year to support early career researchers who were conceptualizing their own transcultural project in view of an individual third party funding application. This time, researchers of all career stages can apply for Activity and Publication Grants.

The Activity Grant can support academic events like international conferences, internal workshops, lecture series, public outreach and transfer, amongst other things. Only events planned in the context of preparations for future collaborative research projects and possible applications for third party funding will be funded. The Publication Grant can help members or alumni of Heidelberg University to finalize a monograph or peer-reviewed article. Funding may include a student assistant, costs for (foreign language) copy-editing, the (partial) payment of the printing costs as well as a short-term stipend.

The Transcultural Forays at the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies offer different formats to encourage research that furthers and consolidates the transcultural research perspective established in Heidelberg over the past decade.
