HCTS Luncheon with Philipp Stockhammer

May 05, 2014

Dr. Philipp Stockhammer presented his research on interactions with foreign objects and technologies in Southern Bulgaria in the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age during the HCTS-Luncheon to the university public. The event took place at the Karl Jaspers Centre on May 8.

Dr. Philipp W. Stockhammer is Junior Fellow at the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS). His current research focuses on the European and Eastern Mediterranean Bronze Age as well as archaeological theory and methodology.

On the second Thursday of every month, the HCTS hosts a Luncheon with a buffet open to the university public with presentations by the HCTS fellows and invited speakers and discussants. The Luncheons are one of several HCTS-organised activities, like the Dinner-Seminars for fellows and the public lecture series.

Founded in April 2013, the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) is a central institute of Heidelberg University situated at the Karl Jaspers Centre. Building on the structures established by the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context", it assembles outstanding scholars from all over the world and from any discipline to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with a focus on the dynamics of transcultural processes.
