HCTS Luncheon with Daniel Leonhard Purdy

Jun 11, 2014

Prof. Dr. Daniel Leonhard Purdy presented his research during the next HCTS-Luncheon to the university public. The event took place at the Karl Jaspers Centre on June 12, 2014.

Prof. Dr. Daniel Leonhard Purdy is Professor of German at Pennsylvania State University and Associate Fellow of the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS). He presented his research about "China in the Republic of Letters".

On the second Thursday of every month, the HCTS hosts a Luncheon with a buffet open to the university public with presentations by the HCTS fellows and invited speakers and discussants. The Luncheons are one of several HCTS-organised activities, like the Dinner-Seminars for fellows and the public lecture series.

Founded in April 2013, the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) is a central institute of Heidelberg University situated at the Karl Jaspers Centre. Building on the structures established by the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context", it assembles outstanding scholars from all over the world and from any discipline to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with a focus on the dynamics of transcultural processes.
