HCTS Dinner with Giulia Pelillo

Dr. Giulia Pelillo presented a lecture titled "Transculturally Speaking: Language Diversity in the European Public Sphere(s)" during the last HCTS Dinner-Seminar. The event took place at the Karl Jaspers Centre on May 22, 2014.

Dr. Giulia Pelillo a lecturer for media and cultural studies at the department for romance philology of the University of Heidelberg and Junior Fellow of the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS).

The Dinner-Seminars of the HCTS take place the last Thursday of every month and feature speakers who are fellows at the HCTS. They serve to present ongoing research activities at the Centre and the fellows' respective areas of specialisation. The purpose is to foster interest and communication between fellows and research groups as well as across the disciplinary delineations. The seminars will start at 6:00 pm sharp and are open-ended, combining food for the body and food for the mind.

Founded in April 2013, the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) is a central institute of Heidelberg University situated at the Karl Jaspers Centre. Building on the structures established by the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context", it assembles outstanding scholars from all over the world and from any discipline to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with a focus on the dynamics of transcultural processes.
