HCTS Dinner with Ana Carolina Hosne

Dr. Ana Carolina Hosne presented her research on "Words and Images" during the HCTS Dinner-Seminar. The event took place at the Karl Jaspers Centre on April 24, 2014.

Dr. Ana Carolina Hosne is Marie Curie Fellow of the Gerda Henkel Foundation and associate fellow of the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS). Her field of research is the Society of Jesus in the late sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth century. Her current research project is titled “The Art of Memory throughout the Jesuit missions in the late 16th Century (China-Europe-Spanish America)”.

The Dinner-Seminars of the HCTS take place the last Thursday of every month and feature speakers who are fellows at the HCTS. They serve to present ongoing research activities at the Centre and the fellows' respective areas of specialisation. The purpose is to foster interest and communication between fellows and research groups as well as across the disciplinary delineations. The seminars will start at 6:00 pm sharp and are open-ended, combining food for the body and food for the mind.

Founded in April 2013, the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) is central institute of Heidelberg University situated at the Karl Jaspers Centre. Building on the structures established by the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context", it assembles outstanding scholars from all over the world and from any discipline to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with a focus on the dynamics of transcultural processes.
