Equipment

Conference Rooms

All conference rooms at the Karl-Jaspers-Centre are equipped with Windows-computers, beamers and flipboards. Should any on the invited speakers wish for additional equipment, please let us know until October 1st at annualconference@asia-europe.uni-heidelberg.de.

To guarantee the smooth running of the conference we ask the speakers to prepare their presentations in the .ppt or .pptx file formats and send them to annualconference@asia-europe.uni-heidelberg.de until October 1st. We must further ask the presenters to refrain from bringing their own computers as interoperability with our media equipment cannot be guaranteed. Please find detailed information on how to package your .ppt or .pptx presentations for transfer from your computer to our devices here. Both the deadline and the technical requirements need to be met if the IT-department is to make sure that everything works well.

Additionally, members of the IT will be present at the conference rooms before the individual panels start and assist with any remaining questions or technical difficulties.

Internet Access

The Karl-Jaspers-Centre provides wireless internet access. If your home institution provides access to the eduroam service, you will also be able to access eduroam from here. Please contact your home institution’s IT-department beforehand for further details. If you do not have access to eduroam, please find instructions on how to wirelessly access the internet in your conference folder.

For those wishing to access the internet via wire, two internet stations will be set up on the 2nd floor of the Karl-Jaspers-Centre, close to the Reception Desk.
