How to get to the Karl Jaspers Centre



Coming from the A 5, change to A 656 to Heidelberg at motorway junction Heidelberg. Coming from the A 6, change to A 656 at motorway junction Mannheim. Coming from the Autobahn, drive straight ahead and follow Bergheimer Straße. On your left side you will see the branch office of the Karl Jaspers Centre. Turn left into Thibautstraße and then right into Voßstraße. You can see the main building of the Karl Jaspers Centre at the end of the street on the left side.  
Coming from the directions of Neckargemünd, drive along the southern shore of the river Neckar, then follow Neckarstaden towards Zentrum and Bismarckplatz. Having passed Bismarckplatz, turn right into Bergheimer Straße. Then turn right two times into Thibautstraße and Voßstraße.

At Heidelberg main station, take bus lines 32, 33, 34, 735 or cable car lines 5 or 21 to “Altes Hallenbad” or “Bismarckplatz” respectively. From there, walk 3-4 minutes to Karl Jaspers Centre on Voßstraße 2 or the branch office on Bergheimerstraße 58 A.

Heidelberg can be reached via the Deutsche Bahn intercity connection.

You can find the timetable here.


The nearest airport is located in Mannheim. This regional airport is connected with Berlin and Hamburg. From the airport, take tram number 5 to get to Heidelberg.

Further airports are:

Frankfurt Airport. Use the Lufthansa Airport Shuttle to get to Heidelberg.
Stuttgart Airport. Use the train to get to Heidelberg.
Baden-Baden Airport. The “Baden-Airpark-Express”-shuttle brings you to Heidelberg.
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. Use the “Hahn Express”-shuttle to get to Heidelberg.
Strasbourg-Airport. Hop on the shuttle train to Strasbourg main station and then take a train to Heidelberg.

How to get to the city center

Coming from the Autobahn (by car)

Leave the Autobahn towards main station, pass main station heading towards Heidelberg castle, then follow Kurfürstenanlage to Adenauerplatz. Having passed Adenauerplatz, go straight on into Gaisbergtunnel. Cars can be parked in the center’s parking decks.

Coming from the directions of Neckargemünd (by car)

At Karlstor turn left into the Schloßbergtunnel and follow the direction "Zentrum/Schloß". Cars can be parked in the center’s parking decks.

Public transport at the main station

Bus line 32 to Uniplatz, bus line 34 to Bismarckplatz and change to bus line 31, alternatively buses BRN 735 and BRN 755 to the congress center and take a six minutes walk to the University Square (Uniplatz).
