Presentation of the Cluster in Berlin

A delegation from Heidelberg University and the Cluster "Asia and Europe" gave a presentation to the German Research Foundation (DFG) on Wednesday, 18th January, in Berlin. The presentation was part of the renewal application of the Cluster for a second funding period.
Founded in 2007 as part of the Excellence Initiative by the German federal and state governments to promote science and research, the Cluster receives funding until late 2012. For an extension of the funding, a renewal application was submitted in 2011 and now presented in Berlin. The decision about the Cluster's renewal will be announced in June 2012.
The delegation consisted of the Rector of Heidelberg University, Prof. Bernhard Eitel, and the following Cluster members (in alphabetical order): Eva Ambos, Ravi Baghel, Prof. Christiane Brosius, Prof. Harald Fuess, Prof. Madeleine Herren-Oesch, Prof. Monica Juneja, Prof. Birgit Kellner, Prof. Joachim Kurtz, Prof. Thomas Maissen, David Mervart (PhD), Prof. Axel Michaels, Prof. Barbara Mittler, Prof. Diamantis Panagiotopoulos, Prof. William S. Sax, Prof. Bernd Schneidmüller, Dr. Jivanta Schöttli, Sun Liying, Prof. Rudolf G. Wagner, and PD Dr. Roland Wenzlhuemer. The delegation was assisted by Dr. Alexandra Heidle-Chhatwani.
