IT Department improves Infrastructure at the KJC
Apr 20, 2012
The IT Department has used the semester break to generally improve the technical infrastructure at the Karl Jaspers Centre (KJC). Among other technical innovations, access to Wireless LAN and research relevant software such as Adobe Connect are facilitated for the upcoming semester.
At the Karl Jaspers Centre, the Wireless LAN can now be used without a VPN Client. Only a conventional URZ account is required. Furthermore, Adobe Connect, which enables video conferences with more than two participants, can now be used simply with the account for the Heidelberg University Library ("UB Benutzerkennung/Uni-ID").

New versions of Apple Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and Office 2011 for Mac are available and can be purchased and installed by the KJC IT. As the collaboration with Exchange E-Mail Servers and SharePoint has been significantly improved, the IT department strongly recommends upgrading to these much more comfortable new versions for a better handling of documents.
