Future Students visit the Cluster

On Thursday, a class of 16 high school students visited the Cluster "Asia and Europe". They attended a graduate colloquium led by Prof. Madeleine Herren-Oesch and exchanged ideas with doctoral students.
In the morning, the class attended the research colloquium held by Prof. Madeleine Herren-Oesch. They followed a fruitful discussion on the League of Nations. Subsequently, the group was guided through the Karl Jaspers Centre and met with doctoral students. The high school students were especially inspired by the modern methods of teaching at the Cluster.
The class from the high school "Fuerstenberg Gymnasium" in Donaueschingen in southwest Germany spent two days at Heidelberg University to get first impressions of university's life and educational methods. The trip was organised by the two teachers Florian Andelfinger and Björn Sermersheim.
Prof. Dr. Madeleine Herren-Oesch is Co-Director of the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context" and Director of the Centre for European History and Culture at Heidelberg University. Among others, she coordinates the Cluster's Graduate Programme for Transcultural Studies.
