Friedhelm Hoffmann accepts a call to the Chair of Egyptology at the LMU Munich

PD Dr. Friedhelm Hoffmann, Postdoctoral Researcher of Project C1 "Medical Systems in Transition: The Case of the Ancient Near East", has accepted a call to the Chair of Egyptology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich (LMU).

He is expected to take up his new position on September 1st, but wishes to carry on his research on Egyptian medical texts staying in close contact with the Heidelberg Cluster of Excellence.

PD Dr. Friedhelm Hoffmann specializes in the Late Period of ancient Egypt, Demotic, Egyptian magic and the History of Science in Egypt. At the Cluster, he is member of research project C1 "Medical Systems in Transition: The Case of the Ancient Near East" which focuses on the relation of healing systems and shifting political constellations.

The Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich is one of the most renowned universities in Germany.
