Joint Committee on Transcultural Studies

The GKTS is a joint committee of the Faculties of Philosophy, Behavioral and Empirical Cultural Sciences, Chemistry and Geosciences, and the Faculty of Modern Philology, together with the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context” at the University of Heidelberg. The duty of the GKTS is to develop an institutional framework that links up the faculties and disciplines with the aim of promoting and coordinating research and teaching in the fields of Transcultural Studies at the University of Heidelberg, and further to advise the University Council, the Vice Chancellor’s Office, the Senate and the faculties in all matters relating to this.
