College Fellow in Pre-modern Japanese Humanities, Massachusetts

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University, USA, is seeking applications for a position of college fellow in Pre-modern Japanese Humanities for one year with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent by the time of appointment. Excellence in teaching is required. The area of specialization should be on (1) history before 1600, (2) Edo or pre-Heian literature or (3) the archaeology of the Kofun through Nara periods.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue research and teach two undergraduate courses and a graduate seminar.

Applications should include a CV, research and teaching statements, teaching materials, syllabus drafts and three letters of reference.

The deadline for applications is April 15, 2015.
