Ãœber Amelia Bonea
Originally from Romania, Amelia Bonea spent seven years in Japan as a Japanese Government scholar. She earned a B.A. in Asian Area Studies with a minor in Comparative Japanese Culture from the University of Tokyo and holds a M.A. in Asian Area Studies from the same university. Her research interests are broad and interdisciplinary and include the modern history of South Asia with a focus on journalism and the history of communications, Indian indentured labour migration, and media discourse analysis. She has recently completed a doctoral degree at the Cluster on the topic of telegraphy and press in nineteenth-century India.
