Radio station Deutschlandfunk broadcasts an interview with Prof. Axel Michaels. The Cluster co-director talks about the importance of the religious sites destroyed by the earthquake in Nepal and about possibilities of rebuilding them.

FAZ Article on Nepal by Cluster Members

German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) publishes an article by Cluster members Prof. Niels Gutschow, Prof. Axel Michaels and Prof. Marcus Nüsser. They report on the destruction of temples during the earthquake in Nepal in their piece "Auch die Götter sind obdachlos geworden".

Swiss Television broadcasts Interview with Thomas Maissen

Swiss broadcasting company SRF has aired an interview with Prof. Dr. Thomas Maissen on the weekly show "Schawinski". In the interview, Maissen talks about his recent book on Swiss founding myths, "Schweizer Heldengeschichten - Und was dahinter steckt". Prof. Dr. Thomas Maissen is a former director of the Cluster and is currently heading the German Institute of History in Paris.

Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung covers Cooperation with Kyoto University

Local newspaper Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung publishes an article on the creation of the Heidelberg University Office at Kyoto University. A delegation of Heidelberg University, including president Berhard Eitel and Cluster Professor Harald Fuess, was present at the opening festivities. Kyoto University and Heidelberg University have close relations since 1990, and are partners in the German-Japanese Universities Alliance "HeKKSaGOn".

Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung reports on Winter School

Regional newspaper Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung publishes an article on the "Santander International Winter School" that took place in Kyoto from March 9 to 18. The idea behind the Winter School had been developed by Prof. Hans Martin Krämer and Dr. Orion Klautau of the Cluster's research project MC7 "Political Legitimation".

The Shanghai-based daily newspaper Wenhui Bao interviews Prof. Dr. Rudolf G. Wagner. Prof. Wagner, who is Senior Professor of Chinese Studies and former Director of the Cluster, had held a series of lectures at Peking University and talks about some of his research results in the interview.

The Swiss daily newspaper "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" publishes an article by former Cluster director Prof. Dr. Thomas Maissen on the historical realities behind Swiss founding mythologies such as the "Rütlischwur". In addition, the "Zeit Online" publishes an interview with him. Prof. Maissen has recently written a book on "Schweizer Heldengeschichten - Und was dahinter steckt" published by "Hier und Jetzt".

Indian Newspapers covered Conference in Kalimpong

A number of Indian newspapers, such as Himalayan Mirror and Sikkim Observer, report about the conference "Transcultural Encounters in the Himalayan Borderlands: Kalimpong as a 'Contact Zone'" in Kalimpong. On the front page of the Himalayan Mirror, an illustrated article has been published after the event. The conference was organised by Dr. Markus Viehbeck with project D19 "Kalimpong" in March 2015.
