Freie Presse (Chemnitz) quotes Prof. Hans Martin Krämer in an article on the seventieth anniversary of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Prof. Krämer talks about the bombing as the end of war for Japan and how it is different from that for Germany. Prof. Krämer is project leader of MC5 Global Concepts, MC7 Political Legitimation. He is Senior Internal Fellow at HCTS (Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies) from September 2014 to September 2015, as a member of initiative Detours - Mediated Circulations of Knowledge.

ZDF History Documentary "Pacific War"

German TV station ZDF broadcasts in its series "ZDF History" a documentary on the end of World War II with a focus on the Asia-Pacific war zone. The film features interviews with former Cluster members Takuma Melber (Research Area C) and Sven Matthiessen (C12 "The Asian Sea"/Chair of Cultural Economic History). Takuma Melber also functions as scientific adviser for the production. The documentary with the title "Pacific War - Der Krieg geht weiter" is first screened on July 26, at 11:30 pm.

n-tv and Der Standard report about Research of Project MC9

News channel "n-tv" and Austrian newspaper "Der Standard" reported about the research of Dr. Ravi Baghel and Prof. Marcus Nüsser from project MC9.1 "Himalayan Glaciers". The article explains how the military conflict between India and Pakistan in the Himalayan region of the Siachen Glacier is prolonged due to the geographical circumstances.

RNZ publishes article on the "Mittelaltertag"

The Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung prints an article on the Mittelaltertag on June 27 in Heidelberg. The event is organised by the Heidelberg University, the University of Mannheim, the University of Education Heidelberg, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. It is coordinated by Cluster member and historian Prof. Nikolas Jaspert.

Spektrum der Wissenschaft reports about Nepal Projects

German magazine Spektrum der Wissenschaft published an article on the humanitarian and restoration aid projects of the South Asia Institute (SAI) in Nepal citing Prof. Dr. Christiane Brosius (Visual and Media Anthropology). The campaign SAI help Nepal is running aid projects in Nepal after the earthquakes in April/May this year.
